*Update! The 2011 Oaklawn Park Racemeet ended April 16th. As in years past we took in horses that did not make it through the training process to start, and throughout the race meet gave sanctuary to numerous horses who were injured or deemed not competitive. Below are images of some of the horses taken in during 2009, 2010, and 2011. Fortunately, most of the sound horses have been adopted, however several are still available to qualified prospective new owners as we need to make room for the ones who came to us during the 2011 meet, those that are fostered with friends, and those on a long waiting list that need a safe haven. In addition, we now have a collection of horses we term "Lifers" that due to injury or age will live with us permantly at the farm. Information about them and how you can sponsor a "Lifer" will be posted soon...
"Dell the Horse with Hope" Dell was our first rescue horse and is a permanent resident of Race Horse Reclaim Thoroughbred Rescue Click here for her story!

Brilliant Cut is a poster boy for race horse rehabilitation. A big money earner, he ran until seven years of age. Along with a fetlock injury he suffered laminitis resulting in serious damage to his front feet. Before euthanizing him his owner asked the Reclaim to evaluate his chances of rehabilitation given proper care. Well, here he is with his corrective Clog shoes and plenty to eat! Vet and hoof care specialists in charge of him give Brilliant a great prognosis for full recovery!!!! We will continue to post his progress.
